Get Your Website The Targeted Traffic It Needs Through Facebook

facebookIt is likely that you are familiar with, and use Facebook, if you spend a portion of your time online. People these days ask about Facebook like they used to ask for each other’s phone numbers. The reason for this is that this social networking site has grown beyond every other site in its area. Your Facebook page nowadays is the equivalent of your online identity. What does this mean to you as a marketer? Basically, Facebook provides a prospective market that you can reach with your product or service.

Facebook is something that people check in with regularly, in order to contact people on their friends list, play games, or find out what’s new with their friends. This is why people choose to do their social networking through Facebook, more than any other similar site. You can turn this following into an immense traffic flow for your site by getting your advertisements on Facebook and therefore in front of the millions of Facebook users. In this article we’ll go over some of the ways you can use Facebook to your advantage.

Facebook started monetizing their service once they reached a couple of million users. Facebook’s ad service is called Social Ads and allows businesses to target certain markets for their ads. This isn’t a very complicated service; in fact it’s easier than other PPC services such as Google Adwords. These ads can get a good response because you have an option to target them to users according to their age group, interest, gender, etc. The biggest concern when you’re running such ads is that you don’t want random people clicking on your ads.

But with such heavy-duty targeting, your ad will only be displayed to the right demographic. You can get an increase of traffic on your site by making sure you have a higher click-through-rate. Another great way to get your ad noticed is to add a relevant picture or graphic that will grab your audience’s attention. Having a picture along with your ad will make your ad look more trustable, noticeable and highly responsive.

If you would prefer to not to spend money on ads to begin with, you always have the option to create fan or group pages on Facebook. When done correctly you could see massive amounts of traffic flowing into your website from Facebook. After all, Facebook users in general are predisposed to join groups that share their interests and become fans following a celebrity’s page. So you can definitely make use of this and create your own fan page or group and start getting people to it.

Also encourage members of your group to ask other people to join as an inherent action of the group. As for fan pages you’ll have to use Social Ads or another advertising method to make people aware of it. Groups on Facebook have been known to get thousands of members joining up over night, and fan pages can get thousands of visitors too, all you have to do from there is turn this interest into website traffic.

In short, you can use viral marketing through Facebook to revolutionize the way in which you advertise your business. Facebook is an especially good option for businesses that may not have money in their budget for marketing at this point in time, you can increase your traffic for free.

I have some friends who have done so well with Facebook they rarely even do anything with their regular website. I on the other hand have not been able to take my Facebook page past the point it is a place where I chat with friends.

    Sally,

Making money on Facebook, especially with Facebook ads is very hard. I think I’d rather stick to Adwords.
